The Next Big Thing
The second All About Muse anthology, a cross-genre mystery theme project for release in spring 2007, begins production in September. Short story submission deadline is Halloween 2006, with a maximum word count of 6000.
Haypenny Press will absorb the printer's set-up fees for both trade paperback & e-book production.
Each submission will earn the author a flat fee if $10.00, regardless of word count. No royalties will be paid for anthology submissions. All submissions will be seen by two editors, & one proofreader. The anthology project editors reserve the right to reject any submission as unfit or inappropriate for this project.
Submissions bearing more than occasional profanity, or gratuitous sex or violence will be rejected. If you must use the latter elements to tell your story, keep it brief & on point. The publisher rejects any use of the "F" word, but the occasional "hell" or "damn" will be accepted.
Cover art, manuscript assembly & coding will be provided for free by Haypenny Press. Printing will be outsourced to Paw Prints POD (www.pawprintspod.com) Distribution will be provided through Paw Prints POD, via their website & Amazon.com, as well as the Haypenny Press website, & will be available for special order thorugh your local bookstores.
Authors will be allowed to sell the book through their own websites. Paperbacks can be purchased through Haypenny Press for $1 over the printer's price plus shipping. Drop shipments can be arranged at the author's request.
.PDF e-books will be made available to contributors for free, to distribute for reviews. Other e-book formats will be negotiable.
The publisher reserves the right to set the selling price to the public for all titles produced un the Haypenny Press name, but authors are free to sell the trade paperbacks any way they choose. Autographed copies traditionally command a higher selling price, & the publisher encourages the contributors to take advantage of this option.
The mystery anthology editorial staff are Liz Delisi & Randy Rawls as editors, Lyn Morgan as proofreader, Maryann Miller as project advisor & senior editor, and Scout DeWitt as project liaison, cover artist & manuscript compositor.
Have fun & we look forward to hearing from you!
